AUSTIN, TEXAS (PRWEB) JUNE 11, 2015

Austin, Texas, May 13, 2015 – Veteran newspaperman Arnold Garcia joins Crosswind Media & Public Relations, one of the leading communications firms in the Southwestern U.S., as a senior advisor.  Garcia, a former Austin American-Statesman editorial page editor, will counsel agency clients on media and community relations.

“Over the course of his 40 year career in media, Arnold has come to be one of the most respected voices in Central Texas and he has navigated fundamental shifts in media operations and priorities,” said Thomas Graham, Crosswind president and CEO. “I’m honored to have him on our team.”

Mr. Garcia joined the Austin American-Statesman in 1974, and became editorial page editor in 1991. A graduate of Angelo State University, Garcia is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Texas National Guard.  He is active in the community, serving on the boards of KIPP Austin, Capitol Area Public Defenders and Austin UP!

“I’m having fun and enjoy the client mix here at Crosswind,” said Garcia, who has advised clients ranging from veterans associations, public agencies and corporations.  The last two weeks, Garcia has been a driving force behind Crosswind’s efforts to organize and host a benefit concert for Central Texas flood victims called Flood Aid TX.  “Every day is an exciting day here.”

Garcia will work out of the agency’s Austin office but serve the agency’s global client base.
