Sandra Borne brings to Crosswind more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, communications, community engagement, and relationship-building across Texas. She has a knack for connecting people, finding the story worth telling, and rallying support around the causes and ideas that strengthen Texas communities—big and small.

Sandra grew up in a small Texas Panhandle town surrounded by working artists, an upbringing that sparked a lifelong love of regional music and shaped her instinct for bringing creative, community-minded people, ideas, and resources together.
That instinct has carried her through executive and leadership roles with CASA of Southeast Texas, Make-A-Wish, the American Lung Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Arts for Rural Texas, along with experience in Texas political fundraising and campaigns.

In 2021, Sandra and her husband, Kyle, moved to Fayetteville, Texas, a tiny, picturesque town tucked between Houston, Austin, and College Station. She soon joined the board of Arts for Rural Texas, an organization created to expand access to arts education for children in rural communities where distance and limited resources can put museums, theaters, and other cultural experiences out of reach. She later became the organization’s executive director and, in 2025, was elected to the board of Texans for the Arts, a statewide arts advocacy organization.

Sandra is also the founder of the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series and Songs on the Square, the nonprofit organization that now produces the free, biannual concert series on Fayetteville’s historic courthouse square. The series brings Texas singer-songwriters to the heart of town, draws visitors to the community, supports local businesses, and helps raise awareness and funds for preservation of the historic Fayetteville precinct courthouse.

At Crosswind, Sandra brings together the skills that have defined her career: building relationships, spotting opportunities, crafting stories that resonate, and connecting organizations with the people and communities that matter to them.

And when she’s not doing any of that, there’s a decent chance she can be found in a local restaurant or pub, jumping in on harmony with whatever musician happens to be playing.
