Victoria Quevedo comes to Crosswind as an experienced multimedia journalist with time before and behind the cameras as a network-affiliate executive producer, anchor and on-screen reporter where she reported breaking news, producing and placing features across broadcast and digital platforms. She attended the University of Alabama and is a Journalism graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, consistently among the top national universities in the nation and ranked second among best Christian Colleges.
Victoria is an accomplished presentations coach and media trainer, with a thorough understanding of current video news requirements, broadcast feature presentation and on-camera interview techniques – from on-site in-field iPhone relays of breaking news to in-studio to fully lit in-studio news production.
Athletics is also in her blood. Victoria had one of her earliest professional posts after college working in major league baseball and stadium promotion – focused on fan experience, major high-visibility concerts, and high-profile special events. She is also the daughter of a collegiate and Olympic athletics coach who moved his family in different regions of the country – Florida, Texas, Alabama.
Victoria is fluent in Spanish and has also traveled extensively on her own throughout South America and Europe – adept at communicating with devotion and compassion across cultures and diverse populations.
Victoria is deeply committed to family and community and has raised money for children’s charities across the South, with truly enjoyable time spent founding, promoting and managing dance marathons that support the Children’s Miracle Network, an international nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness for over 170 pediatric hospitals across the United States and Canada.
She has also served over several years as counselor at the Gretchen Everhart School that nurtures and teaches children and young adults with severe disabilities to survive and thrive in today’s social and business worlds.
Victoria’s most formative media training was on the SMU campus. She was enrolled in the fabled SMU Meadows School of the Arts where she produced daily and weekly updates on the academic community and its sports teams, including in-game, on-camera hosting. She also started her own political newscast, Real Talk. Meadows is nationally known for its pioneering programs that teach students in Texas how to blend artistic talent with business, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship.
From her college years at SMU, Victoria sustains a passion for competitive watersports that still burns brightly today and she has also worked across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as a swim coach, serving as a swimming and diving team manager, and did her part in raising the sport’s national visibility with early success on both the SMU and University of Alabama campus in the use of social media for sports promotion.
