Challenge: Texas A&M was in the process of pursuing a federal contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Objective: Position Texas A&M to be respected and considered for the multi-year, multi-million dollar contract.

Results: In June 2012, The Texas A&M University System was awarded a prestigious grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to become one of the nation’s major hubs of vaccine production and bioterrorism preparedness. Over an expected lifetime of 25 years, the federal contract created the Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing (CIADM), and is worth $1.5 to $2 billion.
