Mary Mckenny is Crosswind’s Account Coordinator, bringing to the agency experience in the public relations realm, specifically in social media management, media relations, and content creation. Her experience in a variety of positions in the marketing, communications, and public relations industries has equipped her with a diverse skill set, including but not limited to content strategy, social media measurement, written communication, event management, and more.
She currently serves as the Social Media Manager on her account team at Texas Tower Public Relations, a student-run PR and social media agency at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is a sophomore pursuing a bachelor of science in public relations and a minor in business. She also is actively serving as the Graphic Design Manager and Media Relations Assistant for the Public Relations Student Society of America Bateman Case Study Competition Team at UT. She actively aids in the management of the UT chapter of PRSSA’s social media pages and is one of the main content creators. Her experience in philanthropic causes didn’t stop at her first internship with Boots For Troops but continued into her time as an Outreach Coordinator at UT’s chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. In addition to the public relations and marketing internships she has held at Spring Mortgage and The Woodlands Christian Academy, she is currently one of the main leads behind the social media management and influencer relations at Missbehavin’ Boutique.
Apart from her experience in the public relations field, she has enjoyed the numerous places she has lived in America, including Houston, New Orleans and Baltimore. She enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, whether in Europe, South America, or anywhere in between. Being raised by STEM-focused parents, her branching into the communications realm was quite out of her comfort zone, but she feels extremely rewarded in her work. Coming from a large Greek family, she appreciates the traditions she takes part in on a daily basis and understands what it means to be part of something beyond herself, a value she takes into her time working as a team here at Crosswind.
